Who you are agreeing with

Differentiated Math is run by Citadel of the Mind Software LLC, a limited liability company in California. "We" and "us" mean that company. "You" means the person using the site.

Using the site means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, the thing to do is not use it.

What the service does

You pick a Common Core standard and Differentiated Math produces three versions of the same worksheet — one with more support, one on level, one that pushes — plus a single answer key that marks all three. You download them as PDFs.

The worksheets are made in your browser, on your own computer. The math is not calculated on our servers and no worksheet you make is sent to us. This matters for what we know about you as much as for how fast it is.

Coverage is grades 1 to 3, in addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and place value. If the standard you need is not in that list, this is not yet the tool for it.

Accounts

You need a free account to download anything. You can sign in with a link sent to your email address, or with Google.

Accounts are for adults. You must be 18 or over to create one. This is a tool for the person preparing the lesson, not for the class — nothing here is designed for a child to sign into, and we do not want children creating accounts.

One account per person. If you sign in with more than one address we may link them to the same account. Keep your email secure; anybody who can read your inbox can sign in as you.

We may suspend or close an account that is being used to break these terms.

The free plan

A free account can download 3 worksheet packs in any 30 days. Every page of a free download carries a preview watermark.

The free plan is for deciding whether this is worth paying for, not for running a term on. That is why the watermark is there, and it is why it is a mark on the page rather than a nag in the app — the sheet outlives the session that made it.

Please do not remove, crop out or paint over the watermark on a free download, and please do not make extra accounts to get past the limit. Both are breaches of these terms.

Paid subscriptions

A subscription removes the watermark and the download limit. The annual plan is the standard price; a monthly plan costs more per month because most of the people who need this need it in August.

Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach us — we are told that you paid, not what you paid with.

A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time from your account page, and you keep everything you are paying for until the period you have already paid for ends. We do not ask why and there is no retention maze.

Payments are not refundable. Cancelling stops the next one; it does not return the payment you have already made, which is what buys the period you are still using. That is what cancelling does in the payment system itself, not a decision made about your account afterwards.

If we change the price we will email you before it applies to you, far enough ahead that you can cancel first. A price change never applies to a period you have already paid for.

What you may do with the worksheets

Photocopying these and handing them out is the point. This section is written to permit that clearly, because a licence that made teachers hesitate would defeat the entire product.

With any worksheet you generate, free or paid, you may:

• Print it and photocopy it as many times as you need.
• Hand it to your class, your tutoring students, or your own children.
• Put it in a substitute folder, a homework pack, or a display.
• Email it to a colleague at your school, or leave it in the staff room.
• Use it in lessons you are paid to teach, including private tutoring.
• Upload it to your own class platform, so long as it is your class.

What you may not do is turn our output into a product of your own:

• Do not sell our worksheets, on Teachers Pay Teachers or anywhere else.
• Do not publish them on a public site, a worksheet directory, or a resource bank.
• Do not include them in a paid course, book, or bundle.
• Do not share your account so a whole department downloads through one licence. If a school wants several teachers covered, write to us — that is a conversation we want to have, not a rule we want to catch you with.

The arithmetic itself belongs to nobody. That 24 + 38 = 62 is a fact and we make no claim on it. What we ask you not to resell is the sheet — the layout, the wording, the pictures, the differentiation and the key.

The answer keys

We stand behind the arithmetic. Every number, every answer and every solution step is produced by tested code. No language model writes any part of a worksheet or a key — not the numbers, not the answers, not the steps — which is a deliberate design decision and the reason this promise is one we can make at all.

If you ever find a wrong answer key, please tell us at privacy@differentiatedmath.com. We will fix it and say so. A wrong key is the worst thing this product could do to you, because you would hand it to a child, and we treat it that way.

That promise is about the arithmetic, and only about the arithmetic. Whether a particular sheet suits a particular child is your professional judgement, not ours. We do not promise a worksheet matches your district's pacing guide, your curriculum, or how your school interprets a standard. Glance at the key before you mark thirty books with it, the way you would with anybody else's.

Beyond the arithmetic, the service is provided as it is. We do not promise it is free of every fault or that it will suit every purpose.

Availability and changes

We do not promise the site is always up. It is a small operation and things occasionally break.

We may add, change or remove features. If we remove something a paying subscriber relies on, we will say so by email first, and if we ever shut the service down we will give as much notice as we can.

Limits on what we owe you

If something goes wrong and it is our fault, what we owe you is capped at what you have paid us in the twelve months before it happened. For a free account that is nothing, which is the honest consequence of it being free.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — lost time, lost earnings, a lesson that did not go to plan.

Nothing here limits any liability that the law does not allow us to limit. Where a term above conflicts with a right you have by law, the law wins and the rest of this document still stands.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you and you have an account, we will email you before it takes effect. Carrying on using the site after that means accepting the new version; if you would rather not, you can cancel.

The date at the top of this page is the version you are reading.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the State of California, and its courts are where a dispute would be heard.
