Grade 3 math worksheets

41 worksheets across 15 grade 3 Common Core standards. Every one comes at three levels — more support, on level, and a challenge — with a single answer key marking all three.

What the grade 3 standards cover

The grade 3 standards cover multiplication and division within 100, multi-digit addition and subtraction, and fractions.

Operations & Algebraic Thinking 3.OA
Products read as equal groups and quotients as shares. Word problems involving equal groups, arrays and measurement, with the unknown in any position. The commutative, associative and distributive properties as strategies, division understood as an unknown factor, and fluent multiplication and division within 100. Two-step word problems written as equations with a letter for the unknown, and the patterns that show up in the addition and multiplication tables.
Number & Operations in Base Ten 3.NBT
Rounding whole numbers to the nearest ten or hundred, adding and subtracting within 1000 using place-value strategies and algorithms, and multiplying one-digit numbers by multiples of ten.
Number & Operations—Fractions 3.NF
Fractions as numbers: naming the fraction a picture shows, finding a fraction on a number line, recognizing when two fractions are equal, and comparing fractions that share a top or a bottom number. Mostly halves, thirds, fourths, sixths and eighths.

Number & Operations—Fractions 3.NF

Develop understanding of fractions as numbers

3.NF.1Understand a unit fraction 1/b as one part of a whole partitioned into b equal parts, and a/b as a parts of size 1/b1 sheet
3.NF.2Understand a fraction as a number on the number line, and represent fractions on a number line diagram1 sheet
3.NF.3Recognise and generate simple equivalent fractions, express whole numbers as fractions, and compare two fractions with the same numerator or the same denominator2 sheets

Every sheet is tagged to the standard it teaches. Nothing printed on a worksheet names a grade, so a student working a year or two from their own gets a sheet that names the skill and nothing else.
